I know there have been numerous question about TVs already but I would like some more advice from those in the know
This is what I would like and the compromise I need to make.
Budget round £500ish
28" cannot be any larger and must have a cabinet.
known brand (Sony, phillips, panasonic etc)
and must either by 100hz or IDTV - I know both would be an improvement
I like sony kit and so far I am biased towards a sony 28DX50 which I can get for £499 plus delivery including cabinet ...
anybody any other suggestions or have this tv ?
Dave.

Just bought a JVC 28 flatscreen (wide)
you can get the 100hz version for 499,,
what i liked was all the connectors were hidden (svhs etc)
on the sony a panel pops out and everything is visible from the front!!!!
also the JVC delivers a superb picture (standard non 100hz) tube via SVHS on the oldd dvd

For me it would be either Toshiba or Panasonic, Sony are nowhee near as good as they used to be, and most of the other manufactures have caught up or overtaken them, paying for a name in sony's case. but thats just my 2p

I've been lookin at new TV's too. I'm after a 100Hz 32". The Panasonic certainly seems best of the bunch. I have always prefered Sony stuff in the past, but I think you DO pay for the name. My 'old man has a Panasonic (about 12 months old), and that is real good. Dolby 5.1 sounds better than ANY other brand in that price range. (was £800 ish)

Got my 28" JVC 28R25EKS (something like that the dolby one) from shopathills.co.uk. Came out best rated 28" TV. You don't need 100HZ on a TV under 32" big, makes practically no difference. I paid £490 about 6 months ago, more like 440/450 now.

Just bought a Thomson 28" pure flat screen from comet only 50Hz though but for £300 inc stand you cant grumble, looks smart int front room, the 100hz version is £400 again inc std, looks alot nicer than some of the more expensive stuff, has some great feature too. well worth a look IMO.
