My journey each morning consists of 1 junction up the M3 to reach the M25, head clockwise on M25 towards towards Heathrow and get on M4 London bound for 1 junction and then a short drive into Uxbridge.
To my horror today I hear that until January 2006 there will be roadworks between M3 - M4 on the M25
FFS 2 yrs of misery
I may buy a motorbike if it gets to bad.

best thing is I live 150 yards from where the work is going to be done!
That way I can join in with the crusties when they descend on the place. Bring a crate of beer and you're everyone's friend apparently
astraboy.

Relax geezers and gals,
The road works will NOT cause grief. Spoke with the head engineer today. Work will be contained to short sections at a time starting at J11 going North and South from J15 will not happen til Feb 2005. Mainly you should not be too badly effected. 3 lanes at all times with a contraflow in about a years time for a few weeks. Solid Concrete barriers will replace the arnco in the middle.
In the early stages the work will be to the edges and just hard shoulder coned off. Bucks should be free flowing unless it comes to grief in Surrey. If any doubt keep awat from the Surrey bit. Or as suggested buy a motorcycle for two years.
Take care out there.

It will still be a major PITA no matter how easy they say it will be.
I sometimes have the early shift and the overnight diversions will cause me no end of fun.

I used to commete around the M25 Surrey bit whe they were widening it from 3 lanes to 4. The traffic flowed as well with the roadworks as before them. I wouldn't worry too much. Lots of 'never ending ' gloom from the Beeb getting people worried .....
