Where are you based? I could do with a clamper!

My understanding is that you would need permission of the car park owner. You would also do best by having large signs stating that clamping is in force.

I think you will find that some clamping firms are actually paid by the car park owner, and that the clamping firm also keeps the fines!

My view is that there are locations where clamping in car parks is needed, for example office car parks in town centres, but then clamping would not be needed in the evening.

This little place is a Goldmine!!! Lots of rich arrogent bitches that believe they have the right to park anywhere!!! Reccon on about £1000.00 a week maybe more!!!!

What the limit ??? was thinking maybe as a parking ticket costs £80.00 then I would charge the same.

Luke

You can basically charge what you like.

You'd be foolish only taking cash though - much better to take plastic. Just remember that most people will want to get their car out and will hand over a credit card for £150, but if you ask them to get cash it'll take them longer. And while they're walking to the cash point they start thinking about ways they can get out of it, maybe getting hubby etc to intervene.

Let me know what price you decide on, then I will offer to cut the clamps off for them for £10 less

3 x cash points less than 4 mins away. Not worried about the Husbands....Until its paid for the clamp isnt coming off. The whole area has hightech CCTV and a copshop around a corner.

Could arrange card payment through a mates business and pay him a commision...

You could make it £x for cash but £x + y for credit cards. Just to focus their minds.

It's a lot easier to take £150 from someone on a card than £80 cash - take advantage of them when they're psychologically down.

So you pay your mate a tenner commission each time - be worth it.

You coulkd also work on a low figure of say £30 or £40, this appears reasonable and will be low enough for many people top have in their purses or wallets without going to the cashpoint.

Its also not really worth arguing over, attempting to damage the clamp etc.
