ha..ha..ha..ha. So sad old Will Young failed to win a single poll and could only limp in at 5th place. His face was a picture, as he attempted to smile his way through the ordeal.

The Norwegian (once a nill point nation) guy won every single country's poll, with (not surprisingly) the american girl second.

Now can people see that the 'best' of British Pop is no longer world class as it once was. This is the damage that Waterman and Cowell have done to our culture.

Very, very, sad....

lol.

I reckon the only reason this show was staged was to 'make' WY the No1 pop idol in the world, but it all went badly off script. His smile got more and more fixed as he watched his future career evaporating in front of his eyes. Funniest thing I've seen for ages.

Of course it matters. He will now be perceived as a loser instead of a 'winner'. He's as good as finished.

Don't think so, I am certain my mum will keep buying his records. Wonder how long it will be before he releases a greatest hits album.

I was thinking more of companies that use his image and name to endorse products and such. They are notoriously fickle about these sorts of things. Once that happens it's the begining of the end.

ub,

FFS you're like a stuck record with this - give it up will you!

You have your opinion - you've told us what it is at least 100 times - we do not need to hear it again!

Are you some sad jealous wannabe pop star that never made it because you sure sound like it?

Happy New Year btw

tiggers.

Happy New Year to you and yours too....

You have your opinion

I do. But this post is not about that... It's about the *facts* of the votes on World Idol.

I agree that the results support my opinion though.

The "hobbit" seemed to be more popular than Simon Cowell... must be a message in there somewhere

Oh, and Ian, I'm sure the Belgian guy appreciated so much genuine warmth

ub,

WOO HOO - HYPOCRISY ALERT!!!

According to your posts in the last month or so these Pop Idol voting things are all a load of sh1te. Now you're using the result of one to support your opinion of Will Young - how come it's OK when the result matches your opinion?

Added to that you think Pop Idol is complete tosh so why does the fact that Will gets voted fifth on a 'vote of votes' (if you like)matter one iota - once again becuase it matches your opinion I suspect!

Anyway fact or not at least he's not been voted World Idol so can you please please please at least give us a week off on your opinion of Will Young?

You still didn't answer ny question about why it bothers you so much - wannabe pop star who failed or not? - come on tell us all

tiggers.

UB, you *do* realise Will Young savagely criticised the World Idol format as a purely money-spinning exercise, and only took part to fulfil a contractural obligation, don't you?

To me it looked like Will was there because he had to be, didn't look like he took any of it seriously

No, I didn't know that, but that only makes it funnier. He must have suspected he would get flattened. Then, bye bye career. LOL.

HMV and Virgin take a bow for massaging the figures to give Will his 'Number one'

Time will tell what happens to Will... wait and see.

Does it really matter if his career goes down the pan, he has already showed that he is in it for the music, by taking time to release the album he wanted to when he wanted to.

And he has made enough money to be able to live a good lifestyle and continue to do this.

I'll answer it for him. Basically he's one of the reasons that I'm a hardcore raver today. IIRC a hardcore rave promoter of the past. Respect, as they say, is due.
