Now I really like the soft yellow, but I don't know what to do about the blue? any suggestions of what colours would complement the yellow?

Your yellow is #ffffcc

Try these:

hex (rgb)

#b3b38f (179,179,143)
#ffddcc (255,221,204)
#b39b8f (179,155,143)

Plus your black

#000000 (0,0,0)

and white

#ffffff (255,255,255)
