Because it's crap!
They've digitally compressed the sound so far that it sounds much worse than FM. You do get a much better choice of channels though - I've got it in my car.

Any idea what sort of aerial is generally needed these days? £80 sounds like it might be worth trying for a laugh, but not if I need to spend the same again getting a proper roof mounted aerial installed.
Is there a site anywhere that shows what coverage is like in each area?

Richer Sounds have the aforementioned DAB tuner for £79.95 - stuck for a present for myself so thought it would be quite nice all hooked up to the AV stuff at home.
No idea what coverage is like - thought it was pretty good though unless you're living in John O Grotes (sp?)

Just bought a Acoustic Solutions DVD player. They are very good value for money. So if you want a DAB then get it..............
But as mentioned DAB is the full monty in the krap dept.
