Question

Been looking to replace a telephone at home and also been thinking of getting broadband. I'm told that you need filters for each phone when you get broadband so I wondered if a double or triple handset system would save me the hassle of multiple filters. We currently have 3 phones and an internet link/phone socket.

Would this do the trick? Oh and more importantly do digital phones use the safe technology that some people reckon fry's your brains when using a mobile phone? Asked this question at Curry's and they hadn't a clue.

Please help

How do your phones connect to the BT line?

Do you have three sockets? Or are they cordless handsets with one central base?

Thumbs up

Yes with digital cordless phones you only need to plug the base unit (+ a filter if you have ADSL) into a socket. You can then run multiple handsets (we have 3 additional) off of the base unit and put them anywhere in the house (unless you live in a mansion!).

As for them frying your brain?? Do you really use the phone that much then?!

Yes currently have 4 sockets including one for PC. Jamie, thanks that seems to help. I'm thinking of my wife really as she's never off the phone!

Do digital phones have the same health issues as mobiles (which I also have) or not? I haven't a clue

Digital phones (DECT phones) have a lower power output than mobiles, but the frequency band used is different.....

It's usually a combination of power & frequency that has an effect - some frequencies oscillate the particles in your brain moreso than others - or rather, have a more dangerous effect.

Not seen anyone say DECT is dangerous, but if you are that worried, it is STILL emitting radiation into your brain! I'm sure not as bad as mobiles though.
