I brought a new keyboard from the ACER repair centre in September ! Ie 3 months & 14 days old !
One of the keys is now faulty (arrow key which I use very little)
I called them today to get a new keyboard under warranty only to be told the item only has a three month warranty
There is nothing on their paper work to confirm this ! Where do I stand legally ????
Cheers

I don't think there is a de facto warranty period for any manufactured product - it's basically up to the manufacturer to decide how long it is.
You would need to ask for some documentation stating that it was sold under this condition. Does it have anything on the invoice?
Most computer equipment has a 12mth warranty, but if it was supplied by a repair centre they may have sold you a refurbished item. Are they saying it's 3mths on any new equipment or just a new keyboard?

If you bought repaired stuff you only get a 90 day warranty..
but only on the repair... so if the keyboard was repaired for a dodgy d key and the arrow key has gone, its a new defect regardless of the original fault...
mind you why buy a refurbed keybrd?? then dont cost that much new

Then a manufacturers 12 month guarantee should apply...
ask them to provide the clause that allows them a 90 warranty... its only software and repairs that are usually given the 90 day crap....
tell em not fit for purpose intended and refund under sale of goods act... or see em in the small claims court...
tell em how come you get a 12 month gaurantee? with all new pc,s,, it dosent say keyboard has only 90 days,,,,
i think there pulling a fast one.. go back and give em hell
