Selling your place in a Q ie waiting list for a car

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has ever sold a place in line before? For example if I had a deposit on an RX8 and there was a 1 year waiting list, could I sell that £1000 deposit to someone??? This is theoretical, I dont want an RX8 at all - Im just wondering if people are doing/have done this on Z4s, RX8s, M3CSLs etc etc???

IIRC people where doing this with the Focus RS as they were sick of getting messed about with build dates keep getting put back. Personally I cant see any problems doing it....

People do it all the time and can sometimes fetch a premium for their space if the car is currently the motor to be seen in (eg. Audi TT, Mini, Z4). Speak to the dealer and they can usually arrange something.
