Well I have been done by a mobile unit at Brands Hatch that had been setup by a police bike, or at least it was a police bike that was sitting next to it. I was notified by post and not stopped.
Also it is not wise to follow police bikers who happen to be breaking the speed limit for no apparent reason. I did this one Sunday afternoon for about 15 miles at over a ton in places and he decided to pull me over eventually. He wasn't too impressed However he was just as in the wrong as I was and couldn't and didn't do me for it
Oh and he also told me he had rear facing radar, I was like *cough* boll0x *cough* cos the speeds he said we were doing were a good 40 mph lower than what we were actually doing. Never heard of rear facing radar before on police vehicles and if he did have it then it was cr@p

Just a question to satisfy my curiosity really.
What speed camera/recording equipment (if any) do Police solo motorcycles carry?
Is it possible for them to carry laser equipment that they can set-up at the side of the road or is there too much equipment to be carried on a bike?
What about hand-held radar/laser detectors? and if they have a hand-held detector is it capable of recording your number plate or is it the old style where they log your speed and then have to pull you over to prosecute?
Any one know? Just to add to my armoury of what to look out for on the roads

I remember one of my mates telling a great story. He was coming home from work on his tuned Fireblade, which involved a good stretch of twisty country roads leading into urban roundabout heaven. My mate knows the roads very well so is making good progress, enjoying himself, pulling wheelies out of slow corners/roundabouts etc.
He gets home, puts the bike in the garage and as he's shutting the door, this police BMW bike pulls up with a very sweaty, shaking copper on it. He'd been after my mate for about 10 miles and nearly fallen off twice trying to keep up
