If I was to carry nunchucks in the car and use them in self-defence. I dont mean just carry them for this purpose but what if I go to a class twice a week and happen to leave them in the car so I dont have to remember to put them in the car twice a week (memory like a sieve and all that) ???

it would entirely depend on the situation you used them in. There is no rule. They would be an offensive weapon regardless.

Why bother? The minute you use them or threaten to use them you will be done up like a kipper by plod. Whats wrong with the good old wheel brace anyway?

Only that I know how to swing a pair of 'chucks rather than a wheel brace - less chance of the toerags getting them off me and then clobbering me!

Do you go to a class twice a week?

Even if you do and can prove it, i reckon the police would expect them to be removed.

Found this in a martial art site.

England

Even though Nunchaku are not illegal in England, there are strict guide lines you have to follow. 1. You cannot carry them concealed anywhere on your body. If you do and you are stopped by the police you will be charged with having an offensive weapon, and you could end up getting a fine or even imprisonment. 2. You are allowed to transport them but they have to be in a lockable bag

Carry them that is. Not use them though, which makes it all pointless

i was answering the self defence bit!

slap a mugger with a weapon like that and you'll do more time than them....anyone who says "it would be worth it..." needs to get a life as you should not be able to give yours up for some jail time so willingly

Why not just carry a small baseball bat?

So long as you have a ball in the car you are able to claim that it is not being carried as a weapon - it is an item of sports equipment.

Simple solution keep two dirty magazines in the car. There are two reasons for this:

1. You have material if you get horny
2. When rolled up these can be very effective weapons. I've seen a demonstration of a Kuk Sool master defending himself using just ONE ordinary rolled up magazine and he was very effective.

Wink

At your next class ask the instructor how to use a maglite in self defence, then buy one of those
