Cool

Just been watching the simpsons on sky and it just cracks me up every night. Get your classic simpsons quote up

Here's mine - Chief Wigum:

Radio: "What is your location"
Wigum: "Er I'm on a road, appears to be asphalt. There are some trees, shrubs. Oh, oh, I'm under the earths sun................now"

LMAO

Marge - "Don't take sweets from strangers!"

Homer - "But Marge, they're only human"

The problem with the Simpsons is that it's so good not even the creators can better it, and that meant that Futurama got canned even tho it was a very good alternative.

I don't know about quotes, but tonight's episode on BBC2 had one of the best Simpson scenes in it, when Homer tries that baseball practice machine!!

(For those who missed it, it's the one where Bart kills a bird with Nelson's BB gun)

Chief Wiggum is my fave character - he is just class.

The episode where Marge becomes a cop and bust the counterfeit jean ring. After the arrest is made:

Marge: "So they will all be locked up then?"
Wiggum: "Fraid not, lack of evidence"
Marge: "But I caught them red handed with the goods"
Wiggum: "looking good boys" as all the cops zip up brand new designer jeans.

PMSL!!

Hello

I think the Simpsons is great.

I just wonder if Americans realise what a terrible reflection on their society the Simpsons is? The humour is very subtle and extremely cutting.

Yup Family Guy is very funny, lot more random than Simpsons too. Gotta say Futurama is my fave though, such a pity they stopped making them

Talking

I still can't watch the episode taking off Cape Fear, with Sideshow Bob stepping on those rakes, without crying with laughter. And "Who's up for a drive across the cactus field?"... Classic.

P1fanatic that is a brilliant scene. Another good scene is the one where wigum is standing next to a van full of very angry police dogs:

Black cop: Er, they look pretty angry chief
Wigum: Yeah, I've been starving them.....teasing them.......singing off-t to them - me me ma mow, ma ma me ma

Dogs are released and they mawl wiggum LMAO

The rake scene is so random but so funny. It goes on for at least 10 seconds longer than you ever could imagine it could

When Stephen Hawking was asked how he was going to celebrate his birthday, he said all his guests should come as characters from the Simpsons - so he could go the party as himself ....

The Simpsons is hilarious, but have you ever imagined what the family would be like in real life ?!? I suspect I'd dislike them intently ! However,

Favourite episode could well be Homer and Marge trying to spice up their love life. The bit with Homer in front of the wind thing that has two guys sawing a log, and he asks marge 'can we trade ?' PMSL !

When I watched them round a friend's house with a group of mates, they were utterly hysterical.

When I watched them in a hotel room in the afternoon with my wife and son, they weren't nearly so funny.

Yet I don't really think it was the atmosphere.

Only one quote I remember, when Homer gets recruited as an undercover agent to look for a billion-dollar note in the main suspect's house. His briefing included the following - Satellite photos have shown he hasn't hidden it on the roof."

Ok - nobody mentioned the Comic Store guy, who happens to be one of the most awesome characters in it!

Also - mentioned a few other cartoons but what about Southpark?

Simpons is the original but Southpark has become funnier and fresher although it too is reaching or has had its peak.

Simpsons..

He's walking down the street reading a comic, just after the French launched a neutron missile at Springfield.

"But Aquaman, you cannot marry a woman without gils. You're from two different worlds." He looks up and sees the missile just before it explodes and says, "Oh, I've wasted my life." Missile explodes and mushroom cloud devours the city.

Southpark..

"Mom -- kitty is being a *****." -- Cartman
"I know a special little kitty that's sleeping with mommy tonight." -- Cartman's mom replies

I think Southpark relies on being rude more than being clever and witty, to gain its laughs. Sure, it is funny, but IMHO it isn't a patch on the Simpsons.

Bart phoning Moe's

"Is Homer there?"
"Homer who?"
"er Homer Sexual" PMSL

One of the Treehouse of Horror episodes where Homer goes through the wardrobe and ends up in 3D and causes a black hole "Doh! I wished I'd listened to that wheelchair guy!"

Homer doing do-nuts in his car...
"mmmmm, do-nuts..."
