I grew up in the 80's with Chris Goffey and the like drivng Chevettes about and they were bad enough if not old (or they seemed old then), but these lot now, what a load of rubbish, I could put up with Clarkson and liked his taste in cars but they all exagerate, the way they speak, stupid, and this bloke Stig, whats that all about, who cares who he is, get a grip and start doing it properly. Clarkson was on Radio 5 last week slagging Mercedes exactly word for word as he did in last weeks show, boring.

Top cars tonight tho

The current stig is not a very good driver IMHO. He is constantly upsetting the car with little wobbles mid corner. Very poor levels of car control for a pro driver.

If you don't like Top Gear...go and watch Fartbeat instead

IMO it's better than any "competing" car programs.

IIRC I think it's the only BBC program I watch (except for eastenders - which I have no choice over )

Oh, and dare I say it without seeming like I'm old...Radio 2

Clarkson used to well respected for his ability to overstate things and keep it funny and fresh. Of course this gets harder as time progresses and we've heard them all and I don't think he can still get away with it. Plus it doesn't become the little bloke who needs to stick to having his own opinions and making them sound plausable, not read from Jeremys notebook.

No no no, lets not get into the VBH thing again, lets just agree that she is gorgeous, I would marry her in an instant, and that Top Gear is still the best motoring programme of them all, at least you get a couple of different points of view of the same car, coz Clarkson and the little fella and the new fella always disagree

nah, at least Tiff can hold a slide, this guy gets it breaking traction and craps his pants, backs off the trottle and you get the wiggle on exit, he needs some lessons in power sliding.

Getting it sideways doesnt give the quickest time though. Just look at the guests time, he was going far too fast, loads of tyre squealing, well off-line and a **** time.

Its about keeping the line and traction on the limit.

Anyone else reckon that Richard Hammond ( think that's the shorter guy ) is just a wannabe Mr.Clarkson? Agrees with everything he says and tries to talk like him.

Program is crap. I've never like the new audience format, it looks so boring standing around in a hangar looking at 3 blokes talk about cars. The best bits are when they cut to footage on the track or out and about on the roads. I still enjoy the program but Clarksons ego is too big and the program doesn't need the studio parts. As for VBH- moose.

Well, seen as I was in the audience for last night's program I can tell you that it's a bloody good day out!

There is so much more shot than ends up shown and you don't see all the gaffs, ****-takes and general marlarkey that goes on. C

Clarkson in real life is very likeable as much as I was expecting him to be a ****; approachable and happy to talk cars etc. He was more than happy to take the **** out of me having a beard and driving a Scoob but that didn't make it onto the final cut. Certainly wasn't insulting though.

After the same ol' same ol' format that programmes like 5th Gear and Pulling Power follow its great for somebody to try something new. And if you don't like it change the channel!

Cheers
Phil

Well that told me, I've never been to the show so fair play, it's obviously more interesting being there than watching it.

I still think it would do better to go back to a magazine format, while the program is still crap IMHO it is about the best thing on TV car wise so I'll keep watching for the time being and try to ignore the emetic effect JC+his gimp have on me.

Well I think it's just a funny car show now. It's evolved from the old "Top Gear" and now has it's own style. They do spend far too much time on the seats talking but it's generally very funny when they are. I agree about the new Stigs driving but last nights time in the Lambo was very very quick

I agree that his driving style looks twitchy & not as commited as the old Stig but you cannot argue with that time in the Lambo on a wet track

Have they changed the track in order to make Perry McCarthy look stupid perhaps? It wasn't a friendly break so I understand
