I've had enough of paying NTL £28 a month for lots of useless telly and only really want CBeebies for my son. There is one out for £45 and some for over £100 I can't find out the difference, can anyone help? Thanks.

Pace Twin has twin tuners and hard disk recording. Lob your video recorder in the bin as well. Cost is more than £100 though

Just got one from richer sounds for £60 (grundig) which is fine, currys have just started advertising them for half price now, £40! Check if you need a wideband aerial, if you go to an aerial supplier should get one cheap (I paid £20) otherwise get ripped off at one of the high street stores!

Paul,
Well Ive got to go back for a more expensive one Although that said its £35, I bought it from a local aerial shop that supplies trade, Im right out in the sticks so need a little more, plus I tried it in the loft, no good. Also bear in mind the coax itself needs to be good quality.
The guy I bought the aerial from was very helpful. He said using your existing aerial plug this straight into the back of the TV, not via video or anything else. Then select channel 5. Turn the aerial one way until the picture starts to go black and white. Then do the same in the other direction. The location in the middle of the two extremes is where your wideband aerial should be.

Paul,
Well it really depends on the strength of your signal, C5 signal condition is used as an indicator, Im way out in the sticks so trying to remove as many obstacles as possible, you just need to try and see what works best, you dont *have* to have it outside.
cheers

A few questions for the more Knowledgeable here
Can you use an old Sky sat box (Panasonic) or does it have to be a new kind of receiver?
If I can use the Panasonic do I just plug the wideband ariel into it where the old Sky satellite dish plugged in?

Jye,
Errr....no. A satellite box needs an input from a satellite dish, and while not dissimilar, you need a dedicated terristrial digital box. A satellite box does not contain the UHF tuner that terrestrial digital is transmitted on.
So, to sum up, no.
