Wink

We still have our old Sony VCR (1985 I think) One of the first Front loaders with IR remote!!!

Works too..but it needs about 15mins to "warm up" before you get a decent picture

Don't use it anymore, just use it as a spare really.

My mum still has her Ferguson Videostar top loader, complete with remote control with a cable that plugs into the VCR !! Her mate even still has a Philips Betamax top loader.

I still have our Ferguson Videostar with cable remote and top loader.

The first thing I taped was the 1980 RAC Rally on World of Sport. I still have that as well. I was 5.

It still works perfectly. And its silver, so it looks great next to my Sony Vega.

My parents have their videostar and first remote control TV in the spare room. The remote control had 3 big buttons and about 40 foot of rubber tubing. You hit the desired button and the air pressure popped the channel selector on the TV. - It became obsolete when they introduced Channel 4

Betamax recorders are great for avoiding the copy protection on VHS tapes and DVD's by the way
