Are these ok to take when pregnant - as the gf has gone off eating lots of chicken etc etc

Should be ok - would reccomend that you make sure its a good quality one though.... everything eaten and absorbed ends up being absorbed by the little one, try to avoid stuff with too many e numbers/chemicals/overly processed ingredients.

try other foods. Supplements should be a last resort imho

what about other protein sources, namely turkey, beef, eggs, milk, fish etc?

protein shakes will be whey protein, which is likely to be too quickly absorbed. unless she's lifting and needs the protein fast to repair muscles, it'll likely be wasted. you could take it with flax to slow down the absorbtion, but there are more options than just chicken or shakes

Very true, I just thought if it was a safe alternative to her having to suff in loads of stuff she doesnt want to eat it would have been a good solution
