I've got a Repro Mahagony table that has got what seems to be a few coffee stains on it. Any ideas as to how to get them out?

I've heard that rubbing Mayonaise on it or running an iron over a paper bag is suppose to work Not sure how true they are though .....

My Trade secrets book says rub Vaseline on it and leave it for 24 hours, or is that the Tantric sex one ?

Anyone know how to get steam marks out of same type of table?

I ordered a pizza and inadvertantly placed the box on the table, and the damp heat left a whitish mark on the table.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

My dad used to go on about using 3-in-1 Oil ...
Rub in very gently with a cloth then polish after .

(Zipping up flameproof suit incase above fails )

Hmmm, the others sound like the "old wives tales" that I have posted I've got the same white'ish stain as Ali has stated in his post. It looks like the laquer or whatever it is has lifted...

Any more suggestions that people have tried?

If the laquer has been taken off Nath, nothing will remove the stains, other than taking it to a restorer. I tried everything, even down to using brown boot polish to cover over the white........ still failed
