best one to try is www.dvla-som.co.uk.....any plates that you find for sale all come through DVLA, just that other agents add charges.
A lot of the non age related marks arent listed on the site, but i know there is a classic mark auction very soon, there should be a link on the site.

have a look in the back of autotrader or on ebay, loads of companies sell them cheap, i got an irish plate (VIL ****) which to us brits is non dating for £59 + transfer fee £80

A14 MEE is a dated plate, you want one like mine without an age.....333 *XX.
I got mine at a DVLA auction. Cost around £650.
I also bought another plate, 600 CFX if your interested, make me an offer if you like. I bought this one before the one I now use at the same sale.
You've just missed the latest auction by the DVLA, it was this weekend in Wakefield area.
