There was an in-depth thing in Mojo a couple of years ago that blamed Mandrax (sleeping pills) for Syd's eventual withdrawal ... same with Paul Kossoff, it wasn't so much the heroin but his heavy Mandies habit that wasted his talent. Sad either way

I like the story about Syd turning up at Abbey Road during the Wish You Were Here sessions, saying he was "ready to do his bit". Dave Gilmour said Syd was "fat, bald and mad", and didn't play anything in the end ...

No arguments with Peter Green tho'.

I'd have to say Lennon, McCartney and Harrison were acid casualties too, judging by their entire post-Beatles output

 

the guy off the film "toxic avenger" is an acid casualty too~!
