I have to go to court in 2 weeks to explain why i haven't paid a parking ticket for my old scoob.... The first i heard of this ticket was when i got the court summons this week. On top of that... i'd sold the car about 6 months before the offence took place. Now i could try prove that i sold the car but this is very difficult as the new owner hadn't registered it and Adrian *** insurance refused to cancel my policy even though i'd cancelled the payments.

One thing i noticed about the summons though... the name on it is wrong... "Morton", well.... my name is Martin. Is this enough to get the thing thrown out of court... or is this likely to land me in even more grief????

I take it you have NO recipt for the sale of the car then?

You must be able to prove you have insurance/mot/tax/log book for a car(if you have one?)that you are now driving?

Yeah, i have the docs for the cars i replace the scoob with (both bought within a month of selling the scoob).

I also have this.... It's the advert posted by the guy i sold the car to. He tried to sell it on just a few weeks after i sold it to him.

He also had an add in autotrader that same week. I've spoken to the folk at autotrader and they will be happy to pass the details to the police.

It's not really proving that i didn't own the car that's bothering me.... i'm more concerned about getting hit with court fees and if there's anything else i can be charged with (along the lines of sectin 172).
