1.5 hours and still as fresh as a daisy. Get in at about 08:00. Have my bacon and egg (akins) then stay awake till about 12:30.
Sleep till about 20:00, have tea, kiss the kids goodnight, then watch tele till 22:30. Arrive @work for 23:00, for another fun packed evening..... Shift work don't you Love it!

Stay awake 'till 12.30 don't know how you manage it.
I am not a pretty sight now, never by the time I finish.
Thankfully I only have a ten min drive home and its all through the twisties
Wakes me up enough to crawl up the stairs and kick the wife out of bed - must have warm spot

Can't do that. If I sleep when I get in I'm up at 15:00....Its then 8 hours before I go to work...No thanks.
Bit the bullet stay awake, much more normal. Who goes straight to bed at 17:30 when they get in on days.

Like Chelle Im off nights now and feel better for it. Whilst I was doing nights I didnt think anything of it. 10pm is as late as I work now. Loved the 4 days on 4 days off routine but the 12hr nights were so boring (8pm - 8am).

I started doing 12hr weekend nights about a year ago and I love them. Can get on with work in my own way, at my own pace as there are no interfering managers hanging around (we get more done in 3 nights than the other shifts all week) and when the work is done I can have a sleep, watch a DVD or flick through Snet for an hour. Best bit is, from 6.30am on monday through to 6pm friday I can do as I damn well pleasy while all the normal people are at work. Give me a 4 1/2 day weekend and a 2 1/2 day working week anyday.

Well here we are again. Another 8 hours of looking on the internet and occasionally doing a bit of work
I used to be really busy so the nights flew by, but the company is shutting at Xmas so we have almost finished Not much to do now, if I went home I don't think anyone would notice.
Now where's my coat.....

Don't mind the afternoon shift, a nice lay in, do what you want during the day and then no bosses around when you get to work.
Stereo on full, Scoobynet on the PC, feet up with plenty of coffee.

Another shift worker here. I do 7:30-7:30 3 nights a week, for 2 months, then the same but on days for 2 months. Ha ha ha 4 day weekends ROCK!!!! oh and I nearly forgot, a week off every 2 months when i change from days to nights/nights to days. Anyway I would love to stay and chat but I am in the middle of making myself some new fuel rails. Now TRY AND STAY AWAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dicke, I live and work in Grimsby for Syngenta. You have probably never heard of them, but they make 'crop protection' products mostly for the world wide farming market. I am sat in the quality control lab, but I think I have had all my samples already tonight
Wish I worked 12 hour shifts. My 8 hour pattern is 7 on then one off repeated 3 times
I do get a week off to recover then, but I certainly need it.
The worst bit is going from nights on to days. All you want to do is sleep but you have to be up at 6.30.

Suppose i should say what I do aswell. I do 3 shifts here (making aeroplanes) and 2 days at my mates company (RB Motorsport) building skyline engines.
Argh, it's starting to drag now. I think if i listen carefully enough I can actually hear my bed shouting my name!!!!

Dicke, don't like the look of week 1 but the rest looks ok.
Yep it is a small world Moody lane it is for me. Don't think we need any help getting the computers to go down, they can manage that very well on their own
What do you do then at this time of night?
Cord, sounds like your job is a lot more interesting than mine. Do you get to test your work ?
