Right, done searches etc, but can't come up with anything what I need.

Basically I want to import a used car from Japan. I know they are quite cheap, the car will be + 10 years old, so no SVA test is needed (i think?). I understand I will have to pay VAT on all costs (shipping, car price in Japan, etc). But..

Can I buy direct?, I have looked at many websites (UK) and the final prices are high all in.

Has anyone used an agent in Japan for instance that just charges a fee for checking the car and getting it to the boat (or is this wishful thinking), then it could be picked up from Southampton.

You won't need an SVA.

You can buy direct, using an agent to sort the Jap side of things and that's it.

I emailed a company called GB Autotrader, anyone heard of them?.

They want a fee of 68,000 Yen, is this a goo/normal fee?.

Any ideas on shipping and freight charges?
