Sad, I know, but for those of us old enough to remember, this Thursday evening is going to be quite nostalgic on BBC1.
I recall:
- Jonah Barrington. At the time, no 1 squash player in the world. Promised lots and delivered bugger all.
- Brian Jacks. Top judo bloke who was knocking off Suzanne Dando at the time. I think he broke the world record for squat-thrusts during one of the shows.
- Davina Gallica. Female impersonator and wannabe F1 driver. Looked like Fatima Whitbread's kid sister (or brother).
Marvellous.
Cheers

I don't think it'll be a patch on the original series...
Which highly paid sportsman/woman is going to risk injury and loss of earnings on such a program?
You're not going to be seeing our top footballers of the day getting cut to shreds falling of a bicycle, now are you?
Waste of time.

I actually went on a school trip to see the recording of one of the finals in Bristol/Bath (somewhere around there). Great fun.
Strange how no-one can come up with any new ideas for TV anymore, so they just have to drag out the old skeletons!!

Quality!
Eddie Waring doing the mini-marathon commentary ably accompanied by Stuart Hall who seemed to lose it at every single opportunity. The European ones (Jeux sans frontieres) were the best IMHO.
Cheers

I played "It's a Knockout" a few years ago - pukka set up.
Stuart Hall bought the rights to it, and had most of the gear. He did corporate events. Great fun.
Dunno what the situation is now.
