Duran Duran I had to take my younger sister, I think I was the oldest in the audience and I was only about 18/19 I thought I was a bit cool & trendy in those days and didn't want anyone to know I'd been so I was horrified to see a bunch of girls from my old school in the row behind us, oh the shame I hated Duran Duran as well, it was awful
Red - Nathan Moore from Brother Beyond's sister was my best friend, I knew Nathan whilst he was still at school, we gave him some work when he was at college, then I started taking him out clubbing with me to London, introduced him to a few people and the next thing I knew he was famous LOL It was always his life's ambition to have his ugly mug on the wall of thousands of teenage girls bedrooms
Michael Bolton

Doctor Fox did the warm up
Also went to a junior best disco thing where Bros and Derek B were playing (amongst others). When Bros came on me and my mate spent the next half hour carrying girls to the St John's ambulance, I mentioned that in my speech at his wedding
Beat that

Local Nightclub often used to get bands in who had record deals but hadnt had any hits. Saw loads in early 90's including Rozalla, Spice Girls, Boyzone, Capella and Deuce (v short skirt - only memorable feature).
oh the shame...

My step-dad was in business with Rick Astley's dad for a short time when Rick's 2nd album was out and I used to work there part-time so me and my sister scored some tickets and signed pictures. I still have mine and even had an old tax disc out of Rick's BMW 325 that I found lying about I was only 13 or something.

Bucks Fizz.
(Runs away and hides)
To be fair, it was a freebie, so probably doesn't count. They invited the whole base. The fact that the attendees all went in my car might say something.
But.
The backstage party was good. And this was in the mid eighties when they were all a lot younger and, um, fitter

a slight digression...
I used to work with a bloke who was the cousin of the drummer in Wet Wet Wet. He was on the phone to him one day and the bloke I worked with was shocked to hear that they'd paid £5K for a song - which they decided they weren't going to do. They'd decided that they were going to do a cover version for a film...
Any guesses as to what it was?

Worst gig had to be the BRMB Party in the Park...
Every single cheasey pop act was on, from S-club 7 to westlife...nooooooooooooooooooooo
Did have Tom Jones though, top geezer
My excuse was that I was offered FREE tickets - turns out it was 3 tickets...so I ended up paying for it...doh! Plus missus managed to make the scoob break down after dropping us off (managed to flood it - how TF do you flood a warm EFi engine?)
I got quite soem stick from that one

Bought tickets for Limp Bizkit a couple of years ago but the *** 'hurt his back' and cancelled the gig. I still ended up out of pocket cause I never got the booking fee back Was pretty gutted at the time. God knows why, within a month I couldn't stand them LOL
