The "totting" ban is upto 6 months and a ban is NOT mandatory...
FFS I know of couriers & others with 20 points or more!
Do you need your car for work? Does not having your licence inconvenience you more than some people (live far from public transport, disabled mother, wife can't drive and new-born baby etc etc) - evidence might be asked for, so keep them real.
You are paying from brief to DO A JOB, not sit around prognosticating Get him working on your mitigation. If he won't, then get one that will. Or if you're not getting representation (recommended) then start working it out yourself and save the petrol for after the trial

correct me if i am wrong ... but i thought they gave you 10%+ 2mph of the speed limit as an allowance
so at 30 = 35mph
40 = 46mph
50 = 57mph
60 = 68mph
black diagnol line on white background = what speed limit???
this is to allow for speedo inaccuracy which are very bad!
the above was what i got told when i went to a "manage your speed" course in northamptonshire where they spend three hours trying to tell you they arnt making money from the thousands of speed camaras they have put up everywhere
and i paid £60 for the privelidge!!
but at least i never got 3 points slapped on the licence but its a one off thing for first time offence was doing 39 in a 30! on a A5 Speed Trap as it wasnt in a built up area or anything
P1TJW... feel for you m8! Still i hope the old push bike is well oiled! at least you get fit unless you can get a lift to work!

I would have thought(IMHO) that between now and your court date and Advanced driving test might be a better way of getting use of your scoob and I'm sure it would stand in your favour in front of a judge.

Bad luck mate
Its all a bit of a lottery these days.
Most people wander over the speed limit a bit 67 in a sixty, just 1 mph over the 10% normal magine is tough.
LB4 very helpful post just rubbing it in! why bother posting at all? I think a little sympathy is what is needed!
Ther but for the grace of........etc go us all!

puff (!) thanks for your comments - u sure this is the same for scottish law? I'm sure it is - I've got a brief who is very experienced even with the Sherrif who is dealing with the case next week, have got some mitigating but not enough - oh already got advanced.
Thanks 4 all your comments re LB4 (lmao @ weava's comments) - just got back from lawyers office, thats the last sort of reply I needed!! I'm under no illusions, it was my fault, I was speeding, and I deserve to take it on the chin, but I don't need anyone else telling me that Gary - I'm not stupid u know, if I was I wouldn't have bought a scoob in the 1st place!!!!!!!!!!!

not that it helps much but i did hear from m8 who works for a major manufacturer that speedos arnt allowed to read faster than your real speed... (in future!)
so the speedo accuracy case wont wont hold water...
and i would believe the 2mph or even a zero tolerance...
RANT MODE ON
i would just like to see more speed camaras round schools and quiet villages and built up areas, instead on on major a-roads like the A1, A5, A38 etc...
RANT MODE OFF
i suppose we should thank our lucky stars that they wernt allowed to use the traffic master camaras to clock you over longer distances!

Sorry to hear this, it soooo easy to get caught out, I have 6 points myself for a dodgy convoying episode a couple of years ago in my Escort Cossie which I have to say I thoroughly deserved.
Not a month goes by now without me waiting for a NIP to arrive due to some git behind a bush or a bloody van on a bridge!
its the way of the world mate, take up murder or burglary you have must less chance of being caught, unless your speeding from the scene that is

Feel for you dude - seems really unfair to penalise you in this way for such a small offence. Almost every day I see someone driving like a prat but under the speed limit.
It could so easily be any of us (apart from the self-rightous tw@ts who haven't noticed that this is primarily an "online Subaru Community")
Gary - this link's probably more suited to you mate

Oh, I don't know, it can be good for a chuckle. I don't consider myself to be a motoring expert but some of the questions are hilarious.
For starters - has she finally found the indicators?

I dont think banned from totting up will hit you insurance to bad when you get you licence back. It will be a clean licence from points you get back though.

aye - the clean license is a plus
that volvo link is hilarious, although I'm concerned I'm looking at it too much - don't want to think they are becoming popular by getting heaps of hits on their web page
