Afternoon all,
I would appreciate any recommendations on London Hotels. I prefer small and well designed, ("hip hotel") preferably with great food also!
Many thanks,
Mossman

Hip:
Sanderson...pretty nice, the Light bar is darned trendy, Spoons (restaurant) ok-ish
St Martins Lane - Cool again, the bar is very cool, Asia de Cuba I really like, some find it a bit too eclectic. Tuscan Steak (the other rest.)average
Those are the Schrager hotels.
The Hemple is really cool and I-Thai is nice
One Aldwych is a very nice Hotel with the best service I've had in town, the Lobby bar is hip but not open too late. Axis(a bit up it's own) and Indigo (fun but a little frivolous) are the rests.
Thats it for me in London ... been drinkin at the Blue Bar in the Hotel where Petrus is now..thats also very cool.
www.tablethotels.com is a great site for finding 'hip' hotels.

Mossman,
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Victoria a few weeks ago. It's about £210 per night, theres a really funky little bar next to the reception and the restaraunt is great.
It's just round the corner from the Victoria Station, and goes up about 8 floors. I was on the top floor and it was a fantastic view. It's also right next to the Apollo, Bombay Dreams is playing at the moment, if you get bored
Rooms are pretty decent too, I sat out on the balcony with a bottle of wine watching the world pass by. Sky telly, underfloor heating in the bathroom, power showers, heating fans etc.
Well worth a look!

I always stay at Hazlitt's Hotel in Soho when in London, if I'm not dossing on a mates couch
http://www.hazlittshotel.com/home.cfm been there 3 times now. No bar (apart from mini) no restaurant at all, so enforced breakfast in bed. It's right in Soho so you don't need anything else. The Laydees seem to love it too, full on Victorian interior, plus some of the rooms subside so badly, they have 6 inch blocks of wood under one side of the bed . It's about £170 a night.

Hazlitt's sounds "interesting" !
Would love the Metropolitan but a little expensive I think! I know the Dover St Wine bar! I was there in a sad state last year after a Nurse of the Year awards dinner!!
