Local 30 raised to a 40, no flying pigs involved !

Had to look twice at the signs today - the 30 limit on a local road is now 40 !
This is in Eastleigh, the road past the Concord Club towards the airport junction of the M27. Last time I looked it was a completely unobserved 30 followed by a short stretch of NSL to the motorway. Now much of the 30 has become a 40, which pretty much reflects the 'proper' speed along there IMHO.
The downside is that the short bit of NSL is now 40 too. Oh well...
Jen - anything to do with you ? Very refreshing to see a limit being raised...

YES!
lol! took fecking ages! My collegaue Paul did all the paperwork and suprisingly we got no objections
The short stretch of National Speed limit has been changed to a forty because there's a new crossing going in linking a cycleway - and you aren't allowed them too near a national speed limit, but we thought it was worth the sacrfice to get rid of that stupid 30mph zone (forced in by Councillors a few years ago )
Not going to change again the near future and no speed camera's planned Finally I can influence it hte right way
