Who know's how the Road Angel works?
#1
I now live in Hong Kong and wondered if the Road Angel could be fitted to work out here. obviously the accident blackspots and other warnings etc for locations in the UK are not necessary for me , but will the mobile laser detection part of it work here?
Also I've seen the Road Angel advertised in the Performance Catalgue for £399.99 (inc. vat), is this a good price?

They are available from UK mail\order companies for much less than £399 UKP - you should be aiming for £300 UKP really. The laser thing should work, but it only tells you when yuo've already been zapped, so its a bit academic really.

AK.. Don't waste your money.
The Raod Angel is mainly a UK GPS warning device. It's laser detector is a secondary function and practically useless (As is any other laser detector)
The detector is mounted on the windscreen. About 3ft from the numberplate which is used as the flat reflective surface to bounce
the laser off.
The defraction for a laser bean is about and inch. So it would be need a VERY badly aimed laser to even get any residual light from the beam to warn you.
And as stated, the trigger to reading of your display on the gun is a few milliseconds. About as fast a blink of an eye. So it will tell you that you've just been done.
There are some laser detectors that can be mounted near the plate; even so they'll only let you know to expect a ticket thru the post.
You may be lucky enough to live in country that will allow a laser diffuser? Much better.
