Cool

I was just wondering Anyone use it for a good second income or even as their primary income? I've just recently started playing William Hill Poker and its been very enjoyable. I initially lost a lot of money but I quickly realised I was playing very bad poker. Since then I've adapted my game and I'm back to even and looking good Anyone got any hints tips

Na not online, too easy to be dangerous IMHO. Normally go to the casino with a limit, or lads night with probably more than i would take to a casino. beer, cigars, spirits, great game of cards with mates.

I agree online needs self-control. Its very easy just to punch in your switch no. when you don't physcially see the cash!

I still enjoy the games with lads too, beers, crisps, film on in the background, etc

Nah, not poker - never even tried to play.. Play Blackjak and looked at playing on-line, but decided not to bother, just keep it at the casino.. (oh and Roulette for a laugh - lets face it, you can't play that to win can you?)

Funny last time that joker checked his online account it said £106 I also heard of some joker that goes through about £1.5k of tyres a year and averaged 16mpg in what is essentially an overblown jap turbo

I spent ages trying to come up with a Roulette system! I came pretty close but ultimately if you play it long enough the house WILL win

The online poker is a lot of fun. Even if I was a few bucks down I've had a lot of entertainment from it. Its mental watching the big boys winning serveral thousand pounds in one hand.........that would be nice Imagine you log in get a pair of bullets in your pocket and turn another on the flop to go on and win £2k. Log off and within 2 minutes you just got yourself a frount-mount

I played the Bill Hill poker..... won a bit to start with and then lost it all. I've left it alone since.

I don't think I have the self control..... a few beers and my reasoning becomes somewhat iffy!

Whats your 'close' roulette system then? I've never lost big time but I guess that's lucky..

Thats why I like Blackjak - first time I played I doubled my money but was 300% up at one point (knew I should have walked) - just need to go back and play again now...

LOL @ sipie and Jye

My (when I say mines it will have been thought of before) system very much relied on playing with a pound at a time but having a massive pot of £200 or more to play with. You place a £1 on black and if it comes in you place your £2 on it again and so on till you don't have the ***** for the run anymore. If you cash in after say 6 blacks in a row you have £36. If you loose you keep doubling up until your colour comes in this taking you back to even or possibly a pound up. The problem is this works very well and you do tend to make a lot of money until you get a monster run against you. I once tested this using a play for fun wheel online and no matter what eventually a bad run came in of 10+ reds that would wipe you out unless you had massive funds to keep doubling up.

SB the doubling bets will always lose you money in the long term because the house only offers 2 for 1 on the colour, however the odds are worse than that because of the greens..thats where the house makes it's money long term...still it's relatively good odds and you can have alot of fun for a known negative expected return.
I can play seven card stud pretty damn well, but I'd only play at a table..on a computer it sounds more like pure random chance, not bet optimisation...you need to be able to assess the guys betting styles at the table to get the best of it.

Yeah, I knew that and upon testing it the odds proved themselves. Its a bummer but its life - it was nice when you get a good run though

Prior to trying online poker I had massive reservations. I figured all the players would be amazing and I'd get emptied instantly but its not like that. There are a lot of good and even professional players but also a lot of numpties. The numpties often bet into a pot and catch a great card in the river (hence they feel lucky and keep playing). Whilst this stings in the short term these fools are your bread and butter

You can still play a skill game by assessing whats in the flop, turn and river relative to your cards relative to the odds of what other hands can be made. The you factor in the way people have been betting and suddenly its as much about the skill as it is about the turn of the cards

I have watched late night poker from time to time but often its on too late

I've just had my best run of cards ever

I was playing the $ tables and hadn't seen much action all night. I'd had a few positional bluffs to keep my stack from dropping but not much to report then I pulled these hands (all in a row):

Hand 1: Four of a kind Kings - scooped $20
Hand 2: Full house Jacks over 8's (both jacks in the pocket) - $33
Hand 3: Jack, Queen in the pocket everyone folded before I even got a chance to raise. Nobody played the hand so I won $1.50 (the blind) Shame really since I had stong cards in the pocket
Hand 4: Pair of 9s with a Jack kicker - doesn't sound much but was pretty strong given the river and the way the betting had been going.

All that put me $68 up in about 5 minutes I lost $10 in a hand a few minutes later but I played the hand right so can't complain. Well chuffed Oh, and sipie........I'm not down now

Kenny, I tried your Roulette system on-line and after a sweat-soaked few hours, I quit £250 up after being £120 down at one point. I realised it's all about setting stop losses AND STICKING TO THEM, it was not sticking to my rules that almost wiped me out. To help the odds, I'd run a second system whereby if I was betting odds/evens I'd keep an eye on the run of colours and once there was a run of 6 of the same colour, stick £1 on the other colour and apply the system until a win came up, then stop until the next run of 6.

I had to stop as I couldn't afford to lose and the stress while playing was killing me.

yeah played online, lost a couple of hundred quid in 30 minutes, then quickly erased it from my pc, far to easy to lose lots of cash quickly.

I've been tempted to play Black Jack on line before but am not sure I'd trust the software. Same applies to on-line roulette. I thought a number of casinos had banned the doubling up game and would expect an on-line wheel to come up green when the action was getting too exciting.

Poker's different - sounds fun!

The poker is a LOT of fun but you really do have to have a good understanding of the game, know when and how to bet and most importantly know when to walk away from a hand! I usually won't even bother to see the flop unless I'm holding a half decent pair or AK, AJ, KQ, KJ, etc. If you play your hands right but loose a lot of money quickly then you were very unlucky and usually beaten by muppet that stayed in when they shouldn't a caught a card. I watched that happen to one guy last night on a big table and he lost $2500 in one hand.....hard to swallow! I lost my initial £90 because i was a fanny and would get a 'feeling' that the straight/flush/whatever was going to come in I've tightened my game and things seem to be going better Even if I was down £20 it would be worth it for the entertainment I've had
