Ebay - rights if buyer doesnt pay
#1
My wife sold some jeans on ebay - buyer still hasnt paid (8 days since she won the item).
Got an email from said buyer "can you post them to me b4 i GO TO COLLEGE" - wanted to pay l8r!!!!
What rights do you have as a seller if the other person won't pay. Surely you can't just walk away scott free ????
Anyone any idea?

ebay have fraud protection in place but guards the buyer rather than the seller.
you should be able to get ebay to send a "payment reminder" email to the seller.
failing that just give them negative feedback - its about all you can do i'm afraid.

you can forward there detaisl to ebay as a non payer and leave bad feedback.
Apart from that, i've always tended to just forget about it and offer the item to the second highest bidder.
Bad feedback will obviously restrict there chances of future bids but it depends on how much hassles you can be bothered to put up with

dont bother with it.
i've had this a few times and now just walk away...you start leaving bad feed back and some weirdos get upset...and its easy for them to find out where you live buy offering to buy something from you...wouldnt bother with the hassel personaly.

Ive had the very same problem recently. If these timewasting to$$ers cant pay or change their mind after they have won they shouldnt be bidding in the first place and should be suspended IMO i always leave negative feedback if someone doesnt pay up and i send a 'non paying bidder' to ebay as well to cover any charges incurred.Harsh but fair i think
Here endeth the lesson

It will ultimately cost you much more to try and pursue it.
IIRC you can re-list the item, and they'll refund your re-list fee.
You can also re-claim your final value fee, as mentioned above.
Did you have any other bidders? try a second chance offer.
Sorry if this isn't much help- its happanend a few time to me lately and is a pain in the ****.

Ebay don't give a toss.
Best to leave it.
They have 70 million members so imagine how many non-payers they get? There's no way they can or even would chase them up.
