How to colour change in photoshop/psp

I have seen a post here before i think with a link to a tutorial, does anyone know where it is or fancy typing a quick guide?

i have paintshop pro and would like to have a play with ideas for paintjobs on my car

Not sure about PhotoShop, but in PSP, you need to select the area you wish to change, then use the "Colourize" option, and using the little bars on the pop-up box, you can vary the colour to what you want.

To make it realistic though, you usually have to tinker with the brightness / contrast / gamma correct settings too.
