Its that time of year when I get an upgrade, I did the 3G NEC 808 thing but took it back because it was huge and cack, also if I pressed a 3 I got a 3 and 4, they couldnt provide a replacement so I cancelled it, therefore I will stick with 2G, fancy something with a colour screen, other than that anything, any recommendations ?

S.B, glad it wasnt just me, everything was fine about the deal, no line rental, cheap phone but it was rubbish.

Will check out the models mentioned, cheers.

7250 has a colour screen, camera and radio

IMO its well worth getting one with a camera built in for picture messaging.

Get a 7250i (note the "i")

Just upgraded my 7210 to one of these for £20. Nice phone, reliable, easy to use, twatproof (I can use it) and the camera is good. You should be able to get one on a contract for buttons really.

Thumbs up

I had a 7250i.. awful IMO. Screen was like one of those moving picture things you'd get free in a cereal packet. Camera was useless, battery life good, keys were awful, ringtones were awful, and when you are in call the earpiece speaker was really bad, very poor distorted etc

Just bought a P800, fantastic bit of kit. Bit large if you just want a phone with some toys. But I wanted it to get my emails on the move and it does it superbly. So many features.

Samsung V200 is another phone I have, excellent camera, great colours, ringtones etc. Blows the Nokia away, crap battery life compared to the Nokia though, great in call sound though.

Remember you don't have to upgrade at the end of your 12 months, you can upgrade from the 12th month onwards.

Some promising phones/smartphones on the horizon towards the end of 2003/early 2004...

Sony Ericsson P810/P900, Z600, Z1010
Nokia 6600, 7600
Samsung SGH-I500
Handspring Treo 600
