If your unit is powered up and you plug in the laser detector, it will false alarm as a mobile.
Is it plugged in properly?
Other things I hear are infrared device on lap tops can set them off, no personal experience of that, as I have not got a laptop.
Otherwise the unit is stable and does what it says on the box.
Give Blackspot interactive a ring, they have very good customer relations.
