I got into a fight at work today, anyway... I gave him one almighty punch in the temple and it hurts if I try to move the last two fingers on my right hand, its also pretty swollen. Im thinking its possibly injured and I cant be arsed wasting 6 hours at A & E, could it be broke? whats the treatment if it is..?

Dont think they do much to a broken fingy. If its not broken perhaps you didnt hit him hard enough. Why did you hit him anyway.

Had the same about 5 weeks ago when I stopped a mugger taking a young ladies bag and mobile, went to hospital on advise of police, and I had just badly bruised my hand and knuckle, and it still hurts today, but he didn't get her bag or phone just a smack in the mouth from me, Do what I did wrap it in an ice pack for a couple of hours.
Cheers

When I did mine (same symptoms, swelling, pain, etc.) I left it cos I was told they can't set it or do anything with it. I now have one slightly more sizeable knuckle
Pain went after a couple of weeks, used to ache a bit though. Took about 6 months to heal properly Fortunately, I now have more control over my temper

Its usually not the knuckle that breaks, more commonley its the small bone that runs up the side of you hand to your knuckle on the little finger. The doctors call it a "boxers" break. Its a weak point apparently.
They ask you to make a fist around a roll of cotton wool, then bandage, or plaster it up for 6 weeks. When it comes off it stinks real bad!
Ive broke mine a few times, twice I had it fixed properly, but the other times since, Ive left it to heal its self. Its a bit wonkey but its OK.

Kid at work broke his 2 weeks back, he spent 2 days in hospital and now has it screwed and plated together.
I did the "boxers break" 15 years back, i got away with a pot for a month.
Take a magazine when you go to casualty...
