Combined DVD player & VCR - Any Good?

Anyone got one of these? Look quite compact and convenient. Our vcr is buggered, the DVD players alright but could give it to Mum (like you do). So....
Suggestions please?

I won a Toshiba combined unit about a year ago and its great

I don't use the video alot but it has all the functions you need and it only takes up the space of one unit

Yeah that's the idea really, found this one www.digital-point.co.uk/model.asp?ID=567 seems alright, but it's not mulit-region and I can't seem to find a hack for it. Mmmm...

You wont find a hack for a Sony

You will have to look for a chip for it.

If you have the space I would go for a seperate DVD & Video.

Richer Sounds do multi-region DVD for around £40 and you can get decent Toshiba Nicam video's on-line for under £80

The combined models only seem to have the basic DVD/Video internals anyway.
