Man flung from stolen car

A 38-year-old man was flung from the bonnet of his stolen car following a burglary at his home in Southgate.

The man ran outside in his dressing gown and leapt onto the bonnet when he realized his car was being stolen, early this morning.

He managed to cling to the bonnet for about 150m before he fell off onto the road in nearby Forest Dale.

Scotland Yard said police were called at 3.48am after burglars broke into the man's home in Morton Way, Southgate.

The suspects, believed to be three men, kicked down the front door and removed some property including the keys to a silver Golf VR6 car.

The pharmacist suffered minor injuries and is in a north London hospital.

One of the suspects is described as a white man in his late 20s, with a stocky build, five ft 11 inches tall and with short brown hair.

He was wearing a grey padded jacket. There were two other suspects with him, who were wearing hooded tops.

They were seen heading along Powys Lane in the Golf, with the registration index PF03 TXK, with a small white Peugeot following them.

A bag, laptop, keys and £150 cash were also stolen from the man’s house.

Police are appealing for information about the incident or anyone who witnessed the burglary or saw the car being driven to contact Edmonton control room on 020 8345 4421.
