cctv for the house / garden
#1
Wonder if anyone here has any advice on what home / garden security camera systmn to go for ?? ie, want a camera at the front off house overlooking car and one at the back off house protecting bike / garden stuff etc. any sytmn recommended which wont cost me too much !! ie under £100, and will provide some decent colour pic quality ??
Also are most off them able to be linked to a normal tv / video systmn to record any nightime activity should it happen ?? have a pir activated security light both front and rear, so with this being activited would the cctv night time picture qualty be acceptable ??
sorry for all the questions folks !! just a little confused over what to get that will give me a lttle more piece off mind at night !!
cheers,
john....

You will not get a twin colour CCTV with auto video recording for under £100.
For that kind of money, you would be looking at a single wired coloured camera that plugs into your TV or VCR. You will need to purchase a VCR auto switcher, which feeds the VCR a signal to start recording each time the camera trigers movement.
You can add another camera to this, but then you will need to go to the hassle of running the wires down to a switch box located near the TV.
The other option is to go wireless, where a remote camera is mounted outside with its own power supply. This then sends a remote signal to a receiver near the TV / VCR, but you would be looking at close to £250 / £300 for somthing like this. (Unless someone knows better & cheaper)

I got one from Homebase, I think. (Tried to check but their website is down at the moment).
It connects into the video and when the camera detects motion it will record for up to 90 secs then reset ready for the next time.
You can also look at the picture at any time if you have scart on your TV.
It costs about £100 and works in low light as well.
It also has a pseaker and microphone on the camera so you can listen and even press a button to speak to anyone outside!
