Since I re-wired my parents place, I have been inundated with requests from friends/relatives to do the odd spot of electrical work for them.

I have a full time job, but wouldnt mind doing a bit of electrical work on the side (to see how it goes). Do I need to register as a company? I have no problem with paying tax, as I would be collecting it?? I dont have the electrician qualification, but am more than capable (Uni, CEng, MIEE). I plan on doing a IEE regs course in due course.

I would like to be a bit more official than cash in hand jobs. I guess I would need liability insurance?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Matt.
