Unhappy

<rant on>

Some git in the audience is waving a geat big Stars and Stripes and someone else has the flag for, wait for it, Chad Didn't anyone tell these idiots that this is a uniquely British event, and that we don't want their flags being waved about.

WTF are they going to do during the traditional singing of Land Of Hope And Glory? Don't tell me.... wave their stupid flags around? Is nothing sacred any more??

<rant over>

I do. I don't want some asylum seeker type from Chad waving their fookin flag to LOHAG. The more I think about it the more it pi$$es me off.

The same goes for some Yank waving a Stars and Stripes. Bas taste or what

I suppose the only people that should be pissed off are the unfortunate people stuck behind the fat flag waving yank. They'll not be able to see anything and they'll also be up to their knees in Coke cans and McDonalds wrappers

LOL - you're right there *is* a Germasn flag

Ironic, as that lot did their best to destroy the place 60 or so years ago.

My God, there is even a 'surrender monkey' flag in there as well. Don't they know that LOHAG is all about defeating them.

I didn't see the proms but didn't we have a yank conductor? conducting this uniquely British event.

So it looks like our 'uniquely' British event has been taken over by foreigners which is a shame but whats new

Edit...its still on and yep it is a yank

BB - it's on now. And it's rather enjoyable, even with the Yank conductor and of course, *those* flags

LOL @ Paulr - you'll miss it when the new PC Proms feature only Islamic chanting, and the Royal Albert Hall becomes a mosque

True, Land of H and G would be a better choice IMO. LOL 'Hands in the air' at every podium finish

Funny how all those *other* flags disappeared when it got 'hardcore'.

A top night's entertainment.

It must be better to have a anthem which is truly British than one that is really English IMO.

hehe.. must admit, I noticed that when they flashed the cameras around to Glasgow *nobody* was singing along So, maybe not a good choice. But, there must be a better tune out there somewhere...
