Laser pointers vs speed cameras

This may be a dum question, but would there be any effect on a speed camera lense if you directed a laser pointer at it?
I remember all the stuff about damaging people’s eyes if pointed directly at them?
Before you ask, no never have owned one!
And of course I would never condone any such actions towards speed cameras, as they are there to produce revenue, I mean reduce accidents...

Sorry - it wouldn't have any effect at all (unless you borrowed one from the Starship Enterprise). When pointed into someone's eyes they damaged the back of the eye, not the lens. Far more delicate than the insides of a camera.
Best stick to pointing angle-grinders at them for now
