Saw 2 lots of police guns the other day. A camera van with police bikers down the road. But then just when you thought youd passed them and was safe, another car with a hand-held zapper was lurking around the next corner with a patrol car further down the road to bust you!

It does seem like a waste of Police rescources hoever it is government calling the shots . Speeding = quick revinue generation and the Police are the ones getting the flack for it. IMHO
'Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime' PAH!
Should have been
'We going to bleed motorists dry and you will not be safe in your own homes' - Not quite so catchy or likely to win votes now is it?

But we all know that the worst criminals in the country are the "fast car" owners, don't we?
After all, if we didn't have the cars, then the car thieves wouldn't have anything to steal.

could have been, though it was on nice long open road, where one could imagine there would be the temptation to speed.
seen the same van parked up by a 3/4 lane carriageway with 4cars waiting round the corner. Vans seem to be used there are more likely to catch a large number of cars. I take it vans must have numerous cameras inside.
The police are often standing by the side of the road during rushhour/trafficjams where you can see them looking at the taxdiscs

There is the ANPR technology around now which can talk to DVLA etc and will flag a car that has no insurance or is not registered / no tax etc. The van will then get the officers down the road to stop the vehicles.
With so many uninsured drivers around this has got to be a good thing for the rest of us.
Does that mean they are not w@nkers of money grabbing b@st@rds Mr Leigh and Dazza ?

Well, I reckon to have seen the most blatent case of attempted theft yet, while on holiday in France.
Coming back up the A20, pay autoroute, I noticed a temporary sign denoting the outer lane closing in 600m. At the same time, a second temporary sign showed that the limit was to be lowered to 110kph,(from 130kph).
Towing a trailer, I slowed to just below 100kph.
I noted a line of vehicles standing in the closed outside lane, and thought "Roadworks". At the same time, the limit was further lowered to 90kph, denoted by another temporary sign! Which I obeyed.
Imagine my shock when I drew closer to find that the ONLY obstruction in the outer lane was a Gendarmerie van with radar facing the rear, and the line of vehicles was those who hadn't obeyed their temporary sign, and who were being fined!!!
Blatant theft or what?
And we think, (at least I do), that our traffic cops are thieves........................:
