Rear Projection TV

Your best bet would be to contact where you bought it from, ask them what the model/part no is for the lamp and then see if you can source one that way. With any luck you wont then have to pay Sony or Tosh prices.

PTV Guns are notoriously expensive, you'll need it fitting too, the convergance can be a real pain even on modern digital sets.
For my 50" Toshiba RP monitors at work the PTV's are about £450 each plus 2 or 3 hours labour to fit them.
Hopefully domestic guns will be cheaper ??

IMHO depends on the model/system, some rear proj unit just have an LCD projector bounced off a mirror. a projector bulb/lamp unit can be from £40.00 upwards and takes around 2 mins to fit in a projector, would imagine some though has been given to access in a rear pro unit
I did have a contact for lamp units and will try to dig it out.

The Lamp is easily accessible and your probly right that it only takes a few mins to fit. Theres an access panel on the back of the tv to get to the lamp.
I got the TV from Currys about 2 years ago, i went to see them today but they said they dont supply the part i need.. "muppets"
The Tv itself is an LCD rear projection and not a "Projector TV" , just incase anyone was mistaken
hope you manage to dig out that contact Paul.
If I manage to find anyone who supplies these lamps i'll post it here so hopefully other people wont have to search for ages.

Part of Dixons organisation, they are supposed to be able to get parts for any product.

Well I would start playing up tbh, 2 years on and you can't get a part from the people you originally brought it from stinks.
Get on the phone to the head office or send them a registered post letter.
