You would think at 34 I'd be used to this
But ... known her for a short while through friends and I finally asked her out and are going out tonight..... and she is 'so nice'
Plenty of times this hasn't bothered me but when you really like them... then boy, do the nerves start to jangle
Any advice gratefully accepted
PS Booze and valium out the equation as have to drive ... must remember to keep speed down through the twisties

Oh you men are awful!
Just be yourself. She will like you more if you are a bit nervous I would imagine, it shows you care and that you havent got used to doing this kind of thing.
Men that are too confident are just dumped and called "Cocky & Arrogant" in my case.
You'd want her to just be herself wouldnt you?

Just be yourself Simon and you'll be fine. Nerves are a nightmare though but I suppose that since you will be rushing about to get ready after work that should help you take your mind off it a bit. Just be thankful you are not like me cos when I am nervous I can's stop talking!!!

she may find the nervous thing endearing
if all else fails, chloroform is your best friend.
At the end of the first date with my girlfriend, I asked her if she wanted to come to a family party the next day. I went on to tell her that all my family are goths and we have a fresh batch of chickens ready to sacrefice, so it should be a good night.
This was of course a wind up
Her face was a picture, 5 and a bit years down the line and shes almost like family

dont be nervous.
remember...she agreed to go out with you in the first place...so she must like you.
go home and have a long shower and just chill out for a bit. Play X box or something to relieve tension and nervousness.
just stop thinking about it as a date...and think about it as two mates going out for a drink. its the word "Date" that makes people nervous.
good luck mate!

If i'm nervous on a date, i find i either start joking around too much or start asking loads of **** questions acting all sensibly, either way i end up looking like a right doughnut. Fortunatly girls know that we do this stuff when we are nervous, and can see right through it.
If you already know her, then she already knows what you are like, so the chances are that even if you make a dick of yourself by being nervous, it won't change her opinion of you.
Just chill out and ejoy yourself!
(I really should practice what i preach!)

make sure you enjoy yourself mate, dont forget to compliment her hair, even if it looks $hit.
let us know how you got on.
Second date, with my gf i got into a massive punch up well i was 17 so it was to be expected, thank god i grew up. You would be surprised what women will put up with

erm...if i were you..i wouldnt compliment her on her hair....that might sound a bit weird.
but by all means...when you see her...say that she either looks very nice or gorgeous...depending on how assertive youre feeling
she will automatically relax after that which will in turn make you more relaxed.
