Question

I want to improve the security on my up and over garage door (single width/size) by placing some sort of lock on the inside (in addition to the poor quality on the outside).

Any recommendations/ideas?

The best physical locks seem to be the 'Garage Defenders' on sale for about £50. They have had recommendations from loads of crime prevention organisations and bolt into the concrete floor of the garage and have a 'secure' lock on the outside.

The only thing I don't like about them is that they make it totally obvious from a distance that you have it and would that in itself attract attention ?

cheapest way is to get some big sliding bolts and fit them to the inside - assuming you can leave the garage via another door, of course!

Thanks Gordo - will do this, as I think it is better to have the security "hidden" from view.
