I've put something up on ebay to sell. I dont want to sell the said item now but there is still 4 days to run on it and i'm bombarded with e-mails.

How can i delete it or have it removed and will i have to pay stupid amounts of money to do this

go to the help section, click on selling , click on managing your item and it tells you there.
