The Speed Camera On The A361 North Devon Link Road, Loxbeare, Nr Tiverton, Devon Can Tell If You Are Driving A Car Or A Coach. The Speed Limit On This Road Is 60mph (Car) 50mph (coach). It Has Cost Me £60.00 And Three Points To Find This Out.
Has anyone else been caught out on this road?
Surely there has to be a legal loophole here as no-one has ever said that a speed camera can distinguish between vehicle types before

If it's a digital one it could just snap everyone over 50MPH and then send out tickets according to the vehicle.

http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/gatso05.htm says:
"Some Models can also differentiate between large vehicles and cars so a lower activation threshold can be set for large goods vehicles and coaches"

The road in question has a speed limit of 60mph, according to signs. A coach has a max speed of 62.5mph, an hgv 56.2mph.
If a commercial is travelling at 60 on a road marked as 60, how can it then be done for speeding?
Since when have roads had 2 road signs in respect to speed limits?

.....because the National Limit varies according the type of vehicle and road.
ie; different limits apply to single carriageways, dual carriageways and motorways - but they are all covered by National Limit signs.
For example, a towing car must obay different limits to a non-towing car.

DBW. Take photo's of all vehicles going over 50 then distinguish who's speeding? Although a really stupid idea I like the idea of the entire resource for studying the photo's being tied up on one camera
