My partners next door neighbour is having a loft conversion, and my partner has been asked to sign a form saying that she is aware that the work is being done, agrees to it and also agrees that a Party Wall Notice and Award is not required.
What is such a notice?
Is she being asked to sign away any redress she has, should the work damage her house?

Party wall notice is to do with bits of the structure that are joint responsibility between two property owners. i would definitely get someone who knows about this sort of thing to have a look at what she is being asked to sign before going any further. In all liklihood there won't be any problems but as she does not stand to benefit at all, I wonder why they want her to sign this thing?
