Watched a piece on how obesity in under 16's has doubled in the last 10 years or so and how it is being linked to the likes of Tellytubbies, Tweenies, etc on cans/packets, most types of food including junk food, also Micky D's promotions with toys and stuff.
It does seem wrong, my daughter is not old enough to recognise or pester us yet but i see it all the time when shopping, Kids picking up stuff witrh their fave characters on and how difficult it must be for parents to put it back in the shelf.
I do not really remember this as a kid, then again that was the 70's and maybe it was not about then or not as much anyway.
It seems wrong to use these characters in this way, they advertise everything and everything, it must be quite a lucrative deal for thwe owners of the characters' copyright and help sell product or it would not be about.
It just seems wrong to use these characters in this way, well to me anyway.
Discuss?

Hello
An interesting topic. My daughter (3 years old) want to go to McDonalds to get the toy.
We buy her the new "Chicken Supreme" (or something) which is actually not too bad.
Steve.
