The Elder Gods
anyone get the feeling - same **** different title.
Enjoyed his first lot the Belgariad etc when i was younger (20s) but lately, in fact since he started co authoring with his wife, the style has just been so crap. very cheesy IMO.
What do the rest of ya think?
cheers
big sinky

I enjoyed very much the Elenium and the Tamuli series of books, Amazing how time flys when you're into a good book (ask any Anne McAffrey reader), not so sure about the new book though, the premise and background story doesn't seem to hold my attention like his earlier books did.

Not read his latest book but it has been seeming to be getting a bit tired, have to admit.
Like Terry Pratchett. His earlier work was, in my opinion, a lot better than the stuff he produces now. Feels like he's lost interest in producing the books...

have to agree that i enjoyed the Belgariad & Mallorean more than the Elenium & Tamuli (not that these were bad in any way and still excellent sets of books). Also thoroughly enjoyed Belgarath the Sorcerer and Polgara the Sorceress
i bought the hardback of The Elder Gods last weekend but not had time to start reading it yet.
wil be doing so over the weekend though for deffo....
maybe its his age....he's over 70 now so maybe not the same drive to write new books ? started writing quite late in his life....
weird to think the belgariad started about 20 years ago !!!
