Question

I am thinking of selling my STi4. But having never had a " sensible " car I need suggestions as something a bit out of the ordinary performance car wise to buy for about £5-6K. I was thinking of a Nissan 300ZX. As a guide I don't want the following as I already have owned them:

RX7
Supra ( Turbo and non turbo )
Celica GT4
RS Turbo

Need something with 4 good seat ( Kids ) but is in the Scooby mode.

Thanks

P.S. Anyone wanna buy an STi4 ?.

The 300ZX is really only a 2+2 rather than a four seater, if the kids are over 8 then forget it. They won't be that much cheaper to run either.

What do you mean by sensible?

Jay

Sensible = Vectra, Mondeo, Astra etc. type family cars

And the kids are 2 and 6. and it's not the running costs that are prompting the move. I get bored after very short spaces of time with my cars. Looking for the next one and I've only had the Scooby a year or so.
Maybe go for an RZ7 about £7,500.

Les
I think the only two cars I have missed were my RX7 type R which I sold to get my Scooby ( big mistake ) and my old Mk1 Ford Capri 3.2 V6. A true drivers car came with a free petrol bowser to tow behind for long trips of say 50 miles !!

As someone who owns a 300ZX I can honestly say that if you want this as a family car, forget it. They are great cars, but the back seats are "excuse for back seats" rather than anything practical. Any child over 10 will be cramped in the back.

Mice

The kids are 2 and 6 and that would be a bloody good reason for my G/F not to think of my Scooby as the " Family Runabout " when she has a bloody FIAT Brava

Guy's I have put myself over badly.

Non family friendly type cars please . 2+2 would be fine as I have ankle bitters 2 and 6 and a G/F who is scared of pushing an empty Tesco trolley cos it is too fast . The Scooby is to saloon and not enough hooligan for me.

Absolutely bl00dy fantastic. Accelerator directly connected to grin muscles, quite tail end happy, if you like that sort of thing, but TC can and will correct that, very responsive, twin turbos are parallel, not sequential, excellent driver feedback and sticks to the road like glue. Great in dash controls, people tend to call it the flight-deck as everything's geared for the driver. Electric and heated seats.

For a UK model, top speed is 156mph, 112 (restricted) on a J-Spec, but that can be taken off.
